CAUTION!
All users with package centric databases be aware:
If you have packages built with items that contain accessories which are DEFAULT ACCESSORIES - which is defined in the D-Tools user guide as accessories where neither prompt nor recommend are checked, causing the items to be included in a project by default and without prompt, know that this function is broken in 5.2.31
The prompt feature for accessories in packages seems to have been removed from 5.2.31 when using the Add Package button, but not when you drag and drop a package from the product explorer.
This seems to have benefits in reducing prompts, but in the case of DEFAULT ACCESSORIES where prompt and recommend are not checked, many users will likely not be aware that their DEFAULT ACCESSORIES are being left out of projects when added via packages using the Add Package button, the most efficient way of adding packages!
To avoid leaving out DEFAULT ACCESSORIES, you can manually check the items when the package window is presented after selecting Add Package.
To correct this issue in your database now all DEFAULT ACCESSORIES can be set with the only the 'recommend' box checked - this is NOT the published setting for DEFAULT ACCESSORIES, but has been supported through releases as far as we can tell, we saw this issue in the early releases of SI5.
This correction is farily easy to do in the working directly in your MS Access Accessory Table, but a real PITA in MMPD, contact support or we can help you do this, e-mail
info@processdsg.com
After the fix, the prompt will still not occur for Prompt Accessories in packages when adding via the Add Packages button, but your DEFAULT ACCESSORIES will be set to be included and not missed.
We do not know what the fix will be for this issue, preferably both settings for DEFAULT ACCESSORIES will be supported.
