Default Cannot open saved projects.

Hey all,

We have been using SI4 for quite some time with excellent success!

Anyway so we recently received SI5 and while it looks pretty good it works for a while...and then stops.

Projects which have been previously setup cannot be opened, when they are double clicked it will not load the project contents in SI-Text. There is no way to open any projects once this occurs. These are not imported projects either. If I uninstall and reinstall SI5 it will run correctly and open projects for a short time then once again revert to not opening projects.

TBH I haven't looked into the issue much, but thought you guys might have a quick fix, you can throw anything technical at me and im happy to apply it. Im thinking of also just waiting for 5.1 before we make use of SI5 on the account of all the other bugs which we are yet to encounter due to the lack of it functioning.

This looks like a file association problem. Please review "Correcting File Associations"

Right, every time I load SI4 it reverts all of the associations. So how to make SI4 and SI5 Co-Exist happily?

Default Repair SI 5 Install

I found even by doing the Remapping the File Association it still does not open a Project in Text via the SI 5 Navigator. So I have to run a Repair on SI 5 via the Install Utility, then it works.

But, as you have stated, once I open SI 4 I can no longer open a SI 5 Project.

Anyone have any ideas on this, is there any way to get SI4 and SI5 to play nice together without performing permission changes like slave labour?

This is a big problem. I just did the same thing and now am having this exact problem!

I'm beginning to think, we've made a mistake going with SI5. We can't edit reports in Word any longer (that is huge for us). The application takes quite a while to load up. MMPD also takes a long time to load. I don't think SI5 (standard) has really done anything more for me, except spend more time on proposals. Here I am posting on this forum regarding a problem rather then being more productive.

Anyway back to resolving this problem, do i need to run this utility from the install disk?
