Default multiple page schematics

OK, I'll pick up the glove, David

When having multiple schematic pages with connections across pages, what do you guys do?

I preffer to connect the wire manually to the output on one page and create a textbox on the arrow end telling where to find the input connection (i.e. To Crestron REL-002 Cresnet page3) and pull the same wire out of the datamatrix again onto the page where the connected item is displayed. Manually connect to the input and add another textbox on the wire start. That way, everything will show up right on all reports.

No worries. Hopefully there will be more than just us participating in this thread.

I'm lurking in the background...you are not alone. In my AutoCAD only, pre-D-Tools days I did exactly what you describe Christian. Of course, no worries about reports or anything like that. Forthe most part I am still doing this in D-Tools; effectivly I create schematics using non-D-Tools shapes. Most of our systems are not super complex but the schematics look really good and I can slam them out very rapidly. Then I manually cross reference from pick list and wire reports. This still ends up providing visually exceptional schematics that are very accurate. One of these days I will invest in going full tile with schematics but my experience has been that they are a bit clunky and unappealing out of D-Tools directly.

We do something very similar with a custom "off page reference" shape, built by one of our team.

pulling the visio "off page reference" shape onto a page, im presented with a dropdown box that asks which page i want to link the shape too.

i pick the page to link to, an identical "off page reference" shape is created on the destination page.

the off page references also call the "title" of the destination/source page, and insert it as text in the off page reference shape, does that make sense?

Can you give some more detailed information on the "off page reference" shape that you are using. It sounds interesting but I am curious on how you set this up.

there is a standard "off page reference" shape in visio...

one of our clever guys modified it into a better shape, and populates it with the destination pages "title"
