Tony and others,
The primary reason we do not support AutoCAD Mechanical (or Electrical) is that we have not had the opportunity to test.
When we say we support something, this means that we have tested it thoroughly and are certain that it will install, run, and perform properly. This takes time and there is inevitably something we find when we do test, even when it appears that it should work fine as in this case.
Unsupported versions (like AutoCAD Mechanical) might work, but users have absolutely no guarantee that all of the features will work, or even that the data will map correctly. So we can’t say for sure what bugs you might encounter and will be unable to assist you if you encounter them. Furthermore, we may make a change in a service pack that will cause the entire interface to stop working. We just don’t know.
Having said that, this is something we will consider for the future, based on demand from customers like yourself. Please continue to comment on the importance of this compared to other features we might implement. This helps us immensely in our product planning.
Best regards,
