And to answer your question, yes, I am a co-author of the shape and the portion that I was not responsible for has been paid for with no supplemental royalties implied in our original agreement.

Ah, yes, $500.00 dollars. Simple, supply & demand my friend. You are correct to say that most templates are relatively inexpensive, but they are also freely available; whereas, it looks as though my particular offering is much more exclusive and holds much more value than the "run of the mill" template. Conforming to a typical S&D model, the early adopters will pay a premium, BUT, they will also be the ones that will have the ability afforded to them to capitalize on its' advantages before it becomes a commodity (much like yourself)
