The GUID is used by the portion of the software that builds and manages the list of projects. Apparently this has been solved for some users already.
Is it possible that this will happen to you? Yep. Is it more likely to not happen to you? Yep. Should you backup all your data before embarking on this journey? Yep. Might it be wise to use your backup software to simply make a backup of your server system before the update so you can restore it to 5.5.177 after it breaks? Yep.
